The only truck we make is the F-Series.
Fuck you,

This is the Ford motor company that once made a ute that had better carrying capacity than the entry F-series, and to solve that problem moved the entry F-series to a unibody platform and the ute to a different, smaller unibody platform. Wait, that didn’t solve anything. Ford, what the fuck?

Meh. I see these running around here in South Texas with Mexican plates. Not the right size. Basically a 7/8 F150 with a weak engine. Bed sits up too high to get anything in it. I’d rather have a modern version of the old US Ranger.

I’ll take an Australian Ford Ranger Tray Ute myself. Manual 2.2 litre diesel.

It’s already announced that’s what they are retooling the Michigan Assembly Plant to build along with an SUV. I suspect it will be the Everest rebadged as a Bronco.
Also the Diesel they use in it overseas is already here and for sale in the Transit vans so it won’t have any trouble with emissions and the EPA.

I like the design better than the F-150 but they really are 9/10 the size so it would be silly.
See Party-vi for further detail lol

I mean, if that’s on the table then yes. I would love a modern Ranger that was nearly the same size as the last one. The only thing it would need is 4 real doors.

I actually helped work on the ad campaign for the global launch of this version of the Ranger back in 2010 (2011 was the first model year) so I’ve been asking Ford Execs to bring this truck here for years.
At the time light trucks were being phased out and because of the import chicken tax the F-150 similarly optioned would only be about $1-2000 more than the Ranger and they didn’t think anyone would buy it.
Light pickups are becoming more popular again, especially with diesels so it sounds like the perfect time.

I don’t think that will ever be on the table - too tough to meet current safety standards at that kind of size. I am excited about the Everest, though. Ford lineup doesn’t have a small-midsize body-on-frame SUV anymore. In fact nobody does unless you count the Wrangler. The Liberty is gone, the XTerra is going away this year, the 4Runner has grown too big, the FJ Cruiser is gone... the other nameplates that used to be BOF are all crossovers now. Hopefully it will be a modern equivalent of the early 90's Explorer/Blazer.

You probably saw the fully loaded off road bro version of the ranger, you can still get a single cab 2wd:

Now this is much more relevant to my interests. Especially the tie-downs. They should bring it over and call it Courier. But the price converts a little high - hopefully local production in the US would drop that down to an MSRP around $25k.
I’ve seen the loaded off-road package ones, but I’ve also seen what I think is a mid-spec XLT crew cab 4x4 and it still seemed too tall.

Here in Chile we have similar prices to the US, for $25k you can get a 4x2 double cab XL Ranger with the 3.2l engine and a 6 speed manual. So a single cab with the smaller engine should come under US$25k.

Double cab XL manual 3.2 RWD for $25k sounds like the perfect work truck.

Yes, someone made a custom one already, it’s not even one year old!

I like everything... except the wheels, tires, grill, graphics, and hood. If they could keep it looking clean like the other truck that would be awesome.
So yeah.. I don’t like much of this.
